Your mobile car-care questions, answered.
Choose the right oil or tire service, prepare a suitable address and understand what happens between a request and a confirmed visit. Find the details that help you take the next step.
Choose the right service
Start with the work your vehicle actually needs, then provide the details that make a reliable quote possible.
What mobile car-care services does Motrive offer?
Motrive coordinates three focused services: an oil and filter change, an on-rim wheel swap, and off-rim tire mounting and balancing. Each request is assessed for the exact vehicle, the private work site and an appropriately equipped provider.
Tire purchases, puncture repairs, general mechanical diagnosis and emergency roadside assistance are outside this initial offering. Describe warning lights, leaks, damaged tires or other concerns before requesting service; a maintenance visit should not be used to conceal a repair need.
Should I book an on-rim wheel swap or tire mounting and balancing?
Choose an on-rim wheel swap when your replacement tires are already mounted on a second compatible set of rims: four complete wheels are exchanged. Choose off-rim mounting and balancing when tires must be removed from rims and another set fitted and balanced.
These are separate services with different equipment and checks. If you are unsure, describe both sets, their sizes and their current condition before accepting a quote. Do not select a wheel swap simply because it appears less expensive.
Why do you need my exact engine for an oil-change quote?
Vehicles sharing a year, make and model can have different engines, oil specifications, quantities and filters. The engine and required supplies must be reviewed before a fixed offer can be issued. If a detail is unknown, flag it for review instead of choosing a similar configuration.
Provide the manufacturer’s requirements or service information when available and disclose access issues or existing leaks. Motrive does not set one oil-change interval for every vehicle; plan future maintenance using the manufacturer’s guidance for your vehicle and operating conditions.
Are run-flat tires, staggered sizes and TPMS work automatically included?
No. Tell us the front and rear sizes, wheel diameter, tire construction and any low-profile or run-flat requirements. Mention existing tire-pressure monitoring warnings and any known damaged sensors. These details affect fitment, equipment, provider capability and the reviewed scope.
Sensor replacement, programming or other specialty work must be explicitly assessed and included in the accepted offer. An off-rim request alone does not authorize every tire-related task, and an on-rim swap does not automatically include balancing or repairs.
Your vehicle and service address
A city name starts the search. The vehicle, address and work area determine what can actually be reviewed.
Can I request service for an SUV, light truck, hybrid or electric vehicle?
The request flow covers passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks, with eligibility checked for each configuration and service. Vehicle weight, lifting points, clearance, wheels and any equipment limits matter. Do not assume a commercial label or a listed model means every version is supported.
A fully electric vehicle does not need an engine-oil change, but eligible wheel or tire work may be reviewed. A hybrid’s oil requirements depend on its engine. Heavy vehicles and work outside the listed services should be discussed before planning a visit; no general repair capability is implied.
What makes a driveway or parking space suitable?
The space must be private or otherwise authorized, firm, level, accessible and large enough for the vehicle and safe work around it. Clear snow, stored items and other obstructions, and provide accurate access information. Public-road work and unsafe sites are not eligible for the initial service.
A booking is not a promise to work on a steep surface, loose ground or a location with inadequate clearance. Describe restrictions before requesting a quote. The provider may pause the visit if the actual site differs from what was reviewed.
Which cities are in Motrive’s current service-area directory?
The current directory includes Montréal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Québec City, Winnipeg, Halifax, Gatineau. These are the ten cities currently included in public discovery and provider recruitment.
A city page is not confirmation that your street, vehicle or preferred window has coverage. Submit the exact address for its current eligibility check. If the form says requests or local availability are unavailable, do not treat the directory as a confirmed booking.
Quotes, confirmation and payment
Understand the difference between preparing a request, receiving an offer and having a confirmed visit.
Does submitting a request confirm my appointment?
No. A preferred date or arrival window is a request for availability. Vehicle and site requirements must be reviewed, and an eligible provider must accept the work. You then review the final offer and complete the required payment before the displayed deadline.
The visit is confirmed only when provider acceptance and payment have been verified. Follow its current status in My visits. An estimate, a submitted form, an email notification or a return from a payment page should not be treated as a substitute for that status.
What should I check in the final quote?
Check the vehicle, service specifications, address, arrival window, required supplies and itemized total in Canadian dollars. The quote shows applicable taxes for the service location, travel and any reviewed specialty work or eligible same-stop adjustment before you pay.
A starting price is a reference for an eligible configuration, not a universal price for every vehicle or city. If an oil specification, tire size, address or service is wrong, ask for a correction before accepting. A different scope or price needs your approval.
When do I pay, and what if an offer expires?
Preparing the initial request does not require payment. Payment is requested against the reviewed offer after provider acceptance. Review its amount and deadline, then use the provided Stripe-hosted Checkout flow; the visit record must verify payment before confirmation.
An expired offer or a changed request needs another review. Do not assume an old payment link still reserves capacity. If a payment arrives after capacity can no longer be reserved, the team must resolve the visit and queue a refund where service cannot be confirmed. A pending refund is not immediate receipt by your bank.
Can I change the vehicle, address, service or requested window?
Use the actions available in your visit record or contact Motrive before the work starts. Explain exactly what changed. A different address, vehicle, tire setup or service can affect site eligibility, supplies, provider capability, travel, price and availability.
A previous quote or confirmed window should not be assumed to cover the change. Motrive reviews the revised request and any required approval, new offer or rescheduling. Do not pay an outdated offer while waiting for an important correction.
How do cancellation and refunds work?
Before the provider is marked en route, cancellation is available through My visits. The operating policy provides a full refund of the amount collected for the cancelled visit without an automatic cancellation fee. Follow the refund status; bank receipt is not instantaneous.
Once the provider is en route, has arrived or has started work, contact Motrive for manual review. The team considers work performed, the reason for cancellation and any refund or rescheduling needed. Check the terms associated with your visit; applicable consumer rights are not removed by this summary.
Seasons, weather and getting ready
Plan around the right wheel set, safe conditions and the details your provider needs before arriving.
How should I plan a seasonal wheel or tire change?
First check whether the replacement set is already mounted on rims. Record its sizes, condition, locking hardware and any TPMS concerns, then choose the matching service. Plan using your vehicle manufacturer’s guidance, local conditions and applicable seasonal requirements rather than one date for all of Canada.
Ask for a window that works for you, while allowing time for vehicle review and provider assignment. The directory and a preferred date do not guarantee a seasonal appointment. Motrive does not promise tire storage or disposal simply because a seasonal change is requested.
What happens if weather or site conditions prevent safe work?
The provider assesses whether the surface, access, weather and vehicle allow the accepted service to proceed safely. Unsafe conditions can lead to a pause or rescheduling. There is no blanket promise to work in every temperature, storm or covered parking space.
Keep your access details current and contact Motrive if conditions change before the visit. The team reviews the situation and any necessary rescheduling or refund under the visit’s terms; a new window is subject to actual availability.
What should I have ready when the provider arrives?
Make the correct vehicle accessible, clear the reviewed work area and have the required keys and any wheel-lock key available. For wheel or tire work, place the agreed replacement set where it can be accessed safely. Check that the vehicle and replacement set match the details in the accepted offer.
Tell Motrive about missing locking hardware, damaged wheels, warning lights or a change in the work site before arrival. Do not assume the provider can remove a lock without its key, repair a damaged part or add unquoted work. Those issues need review.
Households, workplaces and group visits
Coordinate people and vehicles without treating a shared address as a shared vehicle specification.
How many vehicles can I put in one group request?
The current request flow accepts one to four vehicles at the same eligible service address. A household or small approved workplace group can prepare the vehicles within one request, with a separate vehicle entry and service details for each.
Nearby homes or separate workplace locations are different stops and need their own address checks. Do not use a single group request to imply that travel between several sites is included. For a larger group, discuss the actual vehicles, site and required capacity with Motrive first.
Can the cars in a group request need different services?
Yes, within the supported request scope. Select the needed service for each vehicle and distinguish on-rim wheel swaps from off-rim mounting and balancing. Oil requirements, wheel sets, tire sizes and locking hardware are still reviewed vehicle by vehicle.
A group is not one interchangeable vehicle record. Include the correct make, model, year and relevant fitment details for every car. Combining services does not guarantee that one provider or one arrival window can cover all work; the reviewed offer determines the accepted plan.
Does a group request guarantee a discount?
No fixed saving is promised for every group. Approved local rates, the actual services, vehicles, supplies and travel determine the quote. Any eligible same-stop adjustment appears in the itemized offer before payment.
Sharing an eligible address may help organize the visit, but it does not remove individual fitment checks, taxes, specialty requirements or provider-capacity limits. Compare the final accepted work and total rather than assuming a percentage reduction or a particular price per car.
How should a workplace, property manager or small fleet organize a service day?
Choose a coordinator, confirm property permission and collect a vehicle-by-vehicle list of the requested work. Identify where vehicles can be positioned safely and who will provide access, keys and replacement wheels. Mention hours, access restrictions and business scheduling constraints before requesting an offer.
For more than four vehicles or a larger recurring arrangement, contact Motrive to discuss the actual scope. A business inquiry is not a capacity reservation, fleet contract or promise of simultaneous servicing. Keep the workday plan flexible until the vehicles, site, provider assignment and payment steps have been reviewed.
Accounts, guest access and records
Keep control of your visit whether you start as a guest or use a verified customer account.
Can I request a visit without creating an account?
Yes. Guest booking is available when online requests are enabled and the address and service are eligible. You still provide the vehicle, site and contact information needed for review. Guest access does not bypass provider acceptance, final-price approval or payment verification.
Keep access to the original browser used for the request. Its private guest credential allows access to the corresponding visit; a visit number or public link alone is not an access key. You can also use an eligible verified account with the booking email to recover access.
What if I change browsers or lose guest access?
A private browser cookie is specific to that browser and can be lost when cookies are cleared or a private browsing session closes. Opening the same public visit URL on a different device does not recreate the credential.
Sign in with a verified account using the email address supplied for the booking to recover an eligible unclaimed visit. If you explicitly claim it, the visit is linked to that account and the earlier guest credential is revoked. If you still cannot access the record, contact Motrive with its reference; do not post private access details publicly.
What is the difference between a customer account and provider approval?
A verified customer account gives access to your customer workspace, eligible visits, saved vehicles and related records. Creating login credentials does not authorize anyone to provide services or access another customer’s information.
Service providers use a separate professional application and operational review. Business, insurance, qualifications, equipment, services, areas and applicable agreements must be assessed before eligible work can be offered. Customer registration and a provider application should not be confused with approved provider status.
Where can I review service records, and do I need to download an app?
Use My visits on the web to follow the current request status and review the accepted work, quote, payment status and available completion information. Service specifications, recorded checks and service-related photos may appear in the record. Keep the relevant details with your vehicle’s maintenance history.
A store download is not required to use the web booking flow. Check the app page for current iOS or Android store availability; when no listing is published, you can continue on the web. Keep both account and guest access private, and consult the privacy page for how visit information is handled.
Providers, scope and follow-up
Know what needs approval before work starts, and what to do when the actual visit needs attention.
How is a provider matched to the work I request?
The vehicle, site, requested service, operating area and required equipment are reviewed when eligible work is offered to providers. A provider must accept the work before it can proceed toward confirmation. A provider’s presence in the network does not mean every service, vehicle or city is within that provider’s approved scope.
Oil-service supplies and off-rim mounting capability need their own checks; an on-rim wheel-swap capability is not a substitute. Your accepted service specifications and visit status describe the work being arranged, rather than a blanket promise of availability or certification for every task.
Can the provider add repairs or change the work on site?
The visit is for the accepted service scope. A condition found on site may require the provider to pause or decline work and ask for review, especially if the vehicle, supplied parts or work area differs from the request. No unapproved repair or substitute service is automatically added to the bill.
A changed scope or price requires your approval before additional payment. Ask for clarification if the proposed work differs from the offer. General diagnostics, tire repairs and emergency assistance should not be assumed to be included in an oil or tire-maintenance request.
What should I do if work is incomplete or I have a concern after a visit?
Review the visit’s recorded work, completion status, specifications and any follow-up instructions. Contact Motrive with the visit reference and a clear description of the issue so the team can examine the service record. Do not assume a deferred or stopped task was completed because another part of the visit was finished.
The team reviews the accepted work and visit record to determine the appropriate follow-up, including any rescheduling or refund that applies. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance and the recorded service-specific instructions. Existing rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
How do I apply to provide oil or tire services through Motrive?
Create and verify your login, then complete the professional application. It asks about legal business identity, operating areas, registration or an explained exemption or pending status, insurance, workforce coverage, qualifications, equipment, operating permissions and relevant commercial waste recovery.
A sole proprietor can apply; account creation or an application is not provider approval. Supporting records, worker roles, service capability, locations and applicable agreements are reviewed separately. Activation is subject to the required reviews, and submitting an application promises neither acceptance nor a volume of work or earnings.
A clearer next step for your car.
Prepare the vehicle and address, then request the right service. The request does not yet confirm availability; your visit record follows the review and assignment.
